This tattoo of a Japanese dragon is still in progress. Tattooing like this takes time. I'm very fortunate to have clients with this type of dedication as is this on fellow tattooer and friend Joe Hawks, owner of Hawks Electric tattoo in Tampa Florida. Joe and I have been plugging away on this for a bit now . We are getting close to wrapping it up. It's always a little bittersweet, but I am glad to get them finished up. Never glad to be done! Only until this type of work seems finished can we really start to put in the extra work that will really start to separate if from the rest. And can get the extra tricks in for sure. Dragons, Dragons, Dragons! I love Dragons. Traditionally they are associated with bodies of water; ponds, lakes, rivers etc.. So Water Spirits or Gods, if you will. They have also been known to bring good luck and are seen as being very the very wisest of creatures. The tattoo shown here is of a Traditional Japanese Dragon being depicted with cherry blossoms and a bit of smoke with fire. A very colorful piece I did down the side of a female client.
